General Motors introduced its all-new model in the brand’s lineup, the 2016 Buick Cascada. Cascada is a soft-top, midsize convertible with cabin that can seat four travellers. It comes standard with 4-cylinder engine connected via a six-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels. Compared to the Lexus IS 250 convertible, the Cascada is nearly 3 inches longer with 184.9 inches long. The car that will arrive in dealership in early 2016 is expected to cost $30,000 for starting price based on its level of performance and size features.
Engines and Transmissions
The 2016 Buick Cascada will come with standard 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that boost 200 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque paired with 6-speed automatic transmission to send power to its front-wheel drive. With such performance and features, Cascada will compete with the all-new Audi A3. This car has also a 4-cylinder engine and is a four-passenger soft top convertible. On the price scale the A3 will likely cost a bit above the Cascada with a base price of $35,600.
Another close competitor of 2016 Buick Cascada is the BMW 2 Series Convertible. It is new four-passenger convertible with either 4- and 6-cylinder engine options. The base model starts at $38,000 while the top trim level cost $50.000. The Lexus IS C is the hardtop convertible with either 4- and 6-cylinder engine choice or optional all-wheel drive. The Lexus is the most expensive car in the segment with $43K for the base model.
Body Styles and Trim Levels
At initial release next year, the 2016 Buick Cascada will be only available in a two-door, soft-top convertible. But details on trim levels remain unknown. The Cascada can lower its standard power-folding soft top in 17 seconds and this number is the same while at speeds of up to 31 mph. the Cascada will also get Siri Eyes Free, 4G LTE WiFi connection and the new IntelliLink navigation system from Buick.
