General Motors finally revealed their largest SUV 2017 GMC Acadia to public as 2017 model. They carry all-new features and powertrains to make the customers to keep an eye for this car before its release date later.
To make better SUV, GMC starts from the scratch in making their 2017 GMC Acadia. It looks that they have no final design yet since those spy shots give us some windshield and wheels pictures now. For your information, this is not the previous model or wheelbase. GMC truly starts to make Acadia from the first metal sheet. Why we said it is not final design because the current body is not ideal as a crossover SUV nowadays. It seems overweight and unnatural. However, the detail information of 2017 Acadia said that the body is smaller than its predecessor. There will be some trims like SLE, Denali or SLT as same as other GMC’s lineup.
Similarly with the exterior, the interior of Acadia is fully redesigned. GMC claims all-new features and technology will be a perfect synthesis to claim this car as modern SUV. We will be expecting large touchscreen on the dashboard with leather steering-wheel inside this car. Moreover, the rear seat adjustments are as modern as its technology. The second row of this car will carry three passengers. Meanwhile, the rear seat will carry two passengers only. Thus, we will see oval passengers’ shape inside the interior of Acadia later.
2017 GMC Acadia release date
GMC chooses fall 2016 as the release date of 2017 GMC Acadia. It means they have more time to improve the overweight exterior. But, they have a hundred percent readiness for the engine under the hood of Acadia. It is 2.5 L four-cylinder natural aspirated engine inside. We can predict this engine will kick out more than 200 horsepower. FYI, power is not everything. GMC prefers to the eco-friendly engine and better EPA ratings for their new Acadia. As we can see, this car has 22/28mpg city/highway. The engine will save the fuel as economic as possible even when you are in traffic jams. The engine turns off when you are stopped and it will turn on when you release the pedal brake.
The price of 2016 Acadia has yet released by GMC. However, we expect that it won’t more than $30,000 USD due its previous model which cheaper around $1,000. If you thought the base engine is too low for your life, you can choose higher powertrain. It is a 3.6 L V6 engine which pump our 310 horsepower. Meanwhile, it does not affect the EPA ratings either. We prefer to use V6 engine to get maximum towing power of 2017 GMC Acadia.
